Title: Money supply management through the interest rate mechanism
Abstract: At the beginning of 1996 the ČNB changed money supply management. The transition was from a monetary base regulation towards control of short-interest rate of inter banking market PRIBOR 1 week. While monetary regulation base mainly results in changes of the monetary supply, the transition mechanism based on control of short interest rate influences both monetary supply and monetary demand. The monetary transition interest rate mechanism raises three  questions: Does exist a perfect control of REPO? Is real a perfect connection between REPO a PRIBOR?  How an interest rate influence credit market? These problems are analysed in the text. The last two parts of the article are dedicated to empirical estimates of adjustment of Pool model done by Pierce. The model can be used as a tool for decision between monetary base and interest rate.

Title: Demand for imported food from the developing and transitive countries
Abstract: The objective of the paper is providing a deeper in-sight look into the socially and politically sensitive problems of agrarian foreign trade of Czech Republic especially regarding the demand for imported food from the developing and transitive countries. The starting points are assumptions that an imported food are different from home-made food and could be divided into two groups per the origin country: developed country (consumers suppose better quality) and others countries. The article presents empirical and institutional situation in the foreign trade of agrarian and food industry of the Czech Republic with transitive and developing countries and an econometric analyse of demand for imported food from these countries.

Abstract: The structure of GDP estimations comes from two methods. The first one arises from the production method and the second one use consumption method. The article deals with short-term prediction of volume and structure of gross domestic product in cost factors present in current prices. Firstly the paper is analysing a quarter's development within 1993-1995 and consequently describes the models of future tendencies. The end is dedicated to a prediction of volume and structure of GDP in cost factors.
