The Faculty of Finance and Accounting is distinguished by its integral approach to the fields of finance and accounting, as well as an emphasis on their utilization in financial management at all levels of decision-making. There are more than 2,800 students studying at the Faculty and the academic staff consists of more than 80 members.

The Faculty offers degrees at the Bachelor´s, Master´s and the Doctoral levels. It organizes additional courses related to specific topics within various branches. The study programme integrates financial and accounting knowledge to prepare graduates for management positions in banking, securities exchange and related activities, accounting and tax consultancy, insurance enterprise operations, non-profit organisations, and secondary school instruction in the field of economics. Advanced language preparation and increasing opportunities for study at universities abroad improves graduates´ abilities to work with foreign companies, banks and insurance companies, and to represent the Czech state and private sector abroad.

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting continues its tradition of cooperative and interactive relationships between its departments and specialized financial and accounting divisions of state ministries, banks, exchange, insurance and other financial institutions. This tradition of cooperation also encompasses professional associations of accountants and auditors, tax advisers and property appraisers, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. These links also aid in the introduction and application of international financial, accounting, and auditing norms and standards, which constitute important elements of the Faculty´s academic curricula. Programmes of international co-operation and contacts with faculties at foreign universities aim at improving the quality of study to a level comparable to similar academic institutions in more developed countries.
