Institute for Property Appraisal

The Institute for Property Appraisal (IOM) was founded in 1994 as a special-purpose establishment of VŠE. The aim of the Institute is to provide professional training to real estate appraisers and court appraisers specializing in the evaluation of immovable and movable property, of enterprises, bonds and intellectual property.

The subjects contained in the curriculum are introduced in basic courses, which in accordance with the requirements of the Law on Entrepreneurs lasts four semesters, and additional courses which offer narrower specialisation. The basic courses are available every year. Some 750 students have so far taken courses at IOM.

Of course IOM as an appraisal institute and as such receives commissions to elaborate expertise appraisal reports. Thus IOM collaborates with the foremost appraiser corporations and appraiser organizations in the Czech Republic.
