The Centre for Physical Training and Sport

The Centre for Physical Training and Sport is responsible for providing classes for all the VŠE students who are obliged to take physical training as part of their courses. It organizes games on an optional basis for students and arranges practice periods for the VŠE representative teams as well as operating and administrating the equipment and school sports centres.

Physical training and games are an integral part of the comprehensive activities which maintain healthy bodies and minds and offer a social activity which is conducive in forming the characters of VŠE students.

The Centre for Physical Training and Sport is responsible for classes in twenty-three sports specializations, it organizes summer and winter courses, professional seminars and teach-in sessions in accordance with the stipulated curriculum of the university. Students who suffer from some physical disability are given the opportunity to take special lessons and seminars throughout their study course.

Students receive training to enable participation in competitive sports and represent their university in academic competitions and championships. Their results reflect the standard of physical training and sport at VŠE. The selected teams of VŠE students regularly win awards in the Czech Republic Academic Championships and then move on to represent the Czechs in university games and tournaments abroad where they have various contacts with their foreign counterparts.
