Jitka Šeneklová, Jiří Špalek

Politická ekonomie 2009, 57(1):21-45 | DOI: 10.18267/j.polek.668

One of the key assumptions of neoclassical economics is the existence of the rational individual, who always tries to maximize his or her utility. The paper shows possibilities of experimental evaluation of this hypothesis with respect to the various groups of people who undertake the experiment. Our experiments try to (1) Evaluate real outcomes of model situations, and (2) Find differences between various groups of treated people with respect to our main research question - whether economists behave more selfishly than any other group of people. We employed game theory and its fundamental models - Prisoner's dilemma and Ultimate and Dictator Games....

Dynamický model stability inflačného procesu na báze kvantitatívnej teórie peňazí

Dynamic model of inflation stability based on quantity theory of money

Jaroslav Husár, Karol Szomolányi

Politická ekonomie 2009, 57(1):48-57 | DOI: 10.18267/j.polek.669

In this paper the stability of an inflationary process is examined. A dynamic model of the inflation has been developed based on the quantity theory of money. Some theorists say that any rate of inflation other than zero is inherently instable. They say that as people become aware of the fact of continues inflation, however slow, they will anticipate inflation and this anticipation generates inflation. We showed that there exists a model, which helps us to understand that inflation is not necessarily explosive. We follow the ideas of Ph. Cagan.

Jan Ženka

Politická ekonomie 2009, 57(1):79-93 | DOI: 10.18267/j.polek.671

This paper examines international relocation determinants of Czech manufacturing companies in order to estimate the probability of potential delocalizations. The research is based on statistical evaluation of "internal keep-factors" (particular company features strengthening the location inertia of manufacturing), which are divided into three main groups - capital intensity, complexity of value chain and business sophistication. Keep-factors were examined on the company level and represented by six financial indicators. The sample covers 692 Czech manufacturing companies (foreign owned) with one hundred or more employees. The main goal is to identify...
