Abstrakt: | The theoretical-methodological part elaborates on lean management and introduces the A3 management approach used in the practical part. The practical part is divided into three sections. The first part discusses the studied company, provides information about its operations and maps three value streams as defined in the theoretical part: Physical transformation task, problem solving task and information management task. The second section challenges the operations of the Production Planning department, more specifically processes concerning scheduling of final products. In the analytical section it identifies issues in the area of human resources, alignment of the Company's KPIs and insufficient use of available technical equipment. Countermeasures are proposed for identified core issues. The third section takes one of the most promising countermeasures -- the configuration of a short-term planning tool -- and describes thoroughly its implementation. The last part summarizes the outcomes of the thesis and suggests the next steps. |
