Návrh začlenění konceptu wearables do Národní strategie elektronického zdravotnictví ČR

This diploma thesis is focused on finding the possibility of incorporating the concept of wearable electronic medical devices (wearables) into the National eHealth Strategy of the Czech Republic. The main goal is to define strategic objectives for incorporating this concept into the National eHealth Strategy and to propose measures for their fulfillment. To achieve this, the Design Science Research methodology is used.The thesis first introduces the domain of the wearables concept and strategic planning within the framework of digitalization of national healthcare. The first part of the thesis in devoted to commented research of relevant domestic and foreign information sources. Then the eHealth domain is introduced in terms of its historical roots from telemedicine up to the current situation in the world, EU and the Czech republic. Consequently, Mobile Health (mHealth), which is the most important subarea of eHealth, is presented, and the strong link of this domain to the wearables concept is demonstrated. Significant scope of this thesis is devoted to defining the concept of wearables in the contemporary context and in relation to the health of the individual. Therefore, an analysis of the key technology principles, that are specific to the wearables domain, is performed. There is also an exhaustive description of modern biosignal measurement methods by means of sensors that can be integrated into wearable devices to allow continuous monitoring of the various health parameters of an individual.The next chapter analyzes the national eHealth strategies of New Zealand, the United States of America and the Czech Republic. These strategies are analyzed from the point of view of the vision, which determines the future direction of the digitalization of the health sector of the given countries, with the main emphasis being placed on the identification of strategic principles and concrete measures related to the wearables domain.The last chapter of the thesis presents a concrete proposal to integrate the wearables concept into the existing structure of strategic and specific objectives of National eHealth Strategy of the Czech republic. It is presented in the form of a measure which fully corresponds with the structure of subjected strategic document.
