Title: Introduction To Open Technology Innovation Strategies
Abstract: An open technology innovation strategy can be characterised as a proactive combination of intra-institutional strengths and external opportunities of a market in order to create more complex technology solutions by exploiting capacities, capabilities and know-how of another institution (another company, university, research institution, etc.). This strategy may also postulate new market, industry, region, or culture penetration and concurrently has to require new business models. The main research questions of this article are stated as follows: What are the main drivers, key barriers, successful factors, main questions and basic typology of OI strategies in general? The issue of global innovation networks is outlined at the end of the article. The research was based on an extensive literature review, discussion with experts and several case studies (Apple, Nintendo, Nokia, etc.).

Title: Comparison of CO2 Taxation in European Union Member States
Abstract: The European Commission is going to discuss a revision of Directive 2003/96/ EC, restructuring the Community framework for the taxation of energy products and electricity. The first proposals include a new energy taxation system, where the current energy tax is divided into two components - an energy component and a CO2 component. This article first presents theoretical concepts regarding environmental and CO2 taxation; then it concentrates on current national systems of CO2 taxation in European Union Member States with a focus on the energy and transport sectors. After making an overview of CO2 taxation, the article focuses on a comparison of national systems of CO2 taxation and indicates similarities in the taxes in their application in both the energy and transport sectors. The authors deal with all taxes that have their current tax base based on CO2 emissions or have CO2 emissions as one part of their tax base. The analysis is provided for a period until the end of 2009. Finally, the results of the comparison of CO2 taxation are discussed. The article also includes a brief overview of existing ex-post analysis of CO2 taxation in the Nordic countries of the European Union.

Title: When To Set Up Multiple Talent Groups in the Enterprise?
Abstract: This paper deals with the topic of talent management in companies. At present, companies meditate whether to organize their talent management in multiple talent groups in the company. The purpose of this paper is to follow such criteria for talent management that are common to businesses across different sectors. On the basis of systematic monitoring of employee development in ten large companies, I have specified a number of indicators in three areas that talent management systems need to take into account. The results of this study point to some trends that are necessary for various large companies in the implementation of talent management systems.

Title: Response To a Global Economic Crisis - Impacts on Private Sector
Abstract: This paper is focused on analyzing the impacts of the governmental initiatives as a response to the global economic crisis on the private sectors in different countries. Macroeconomic and microeconomic backgrounds of the crisis are discussed at the beginning in order to understand its roots and consequences. These backgrounds are consequently connected and analyzed with a focus on selected countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Australia. The impacts of the governmental initiatives on the private sector, key findings and recommendations, are summarised in the last chapter of the paper.
