The share of mentioned beneficiaries (developing countries) in the total Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided by the Czech Republic was approximately one quarter. Afghanistan and Iraq receive substantial amounts of ODA from the Czech Republic; however, post-war reconstruction is the reason for this fact. Development projects in Mongolia as well as other countries (such as Vietnam, Georgia and Yemen) are successfully implemented in the long term and the amounts of ODA received have been steadily increasing. Among the countries of interest, Mongolia receives the highest ODA per capita from the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to frameworks and regulations available for both financial and non-financial risk management and their relation to IS/IT risk management. The relationship and common and different features between IS/IT risk management and operational risk management are discussed on the basis of a short introduction to the specifics of risk management in financial institutions. The advantages and challenges of those different frameworks are summarized together with the possibility to incorporate some IT/IS risk management tools and methods into operational risk management in practice. Basel II is the main framework covering the area of operational risk management, therefore the paper focuses on the assessment of the impact and integration of the Basel II framework with IS/IT risk management ones. Current theoretical concepts of organizational culture are discussed in the first part, so that they can be used in the application part. The second part of the article is based on the results of a case study of an international retail company currently present on the Czech market. Primary qualitative research has been carried out as part of the case study in order to analyze several aspects of the organizational culture of the respective company and try to answer questions such as how the organizational culture is formulated, managed and transferred from the home to the host country and how it is perceived by employees, mainly front line employees. A discussion about the specific retail macro culture is performed over the example of the examined company. Even if the results of this case study cannot be generalized, they can serve as a continuation of the research work already performed by Elke Pioch and thus this case study can be compared to similar studies carried out in other retail markets such as in the UK and Germany. However, language interference is most often discussed as a source of errors known as negative transfer. The interferential mistakes adopted into German from English as the first acquired foreign language are a new linguistic phenomenon among our students at the University of Economics in Prague. Frequent interlinguistic mistakes caused by mechanical adoption of the English language have been sorted out in several groups according to their lexical, grammatical and orthographical features, analyzed and described in detail. The output is a set of exercises which is published under the title "German after English". It is an exercise book with a set of interactive exercises on a CD-ROM. Our purpose is to eliminate common mistakes which make communication difficult. The most important aspect is the necessity of a comparative approach to teaching languages, which can help eliminate or avoid such mistakes.
