Title: Introduction
Abstract: Vážení a milí čtenáři! Dnes dostáváte do rukou dvojčíslo, jehož vydání bylo motivováno mezinárodní vědeckou konferencí "Nová teorie ekonomiky a managementu", na níž jste byli upozorněni v minulém čísle a která se uskutečnila dne 17. 10. 2008 v Rajské budově Vysoké školy ekonomické na téma "Nová teorie ekonomiky a managementu organizací". Právě tato konference byla prvním velkým setkáním ekonomů - teoretiků i představitelů z praxe na českém území od vypuknutí světové krize. Samozřejmě většina příspěvků vznikala v době, kdy ještě podstata a velikost těchto událostí nebyly tak zjevné, ale především panelové diskuse se zabývaly primárně krizí. Hloubku a rozsah současné světové finanční krize zavinily mimo jiné i některé nové vlastnosti moderních a bohatých společností, především silný individualismus, který již překryl tradiční pocit sounáležitosti k národu či respekt ke státu a jiným regulačním autoritám. Ani vztah zaměstnance k firmě, k zaměstnavateli již nemá tradiční parametry, ale je ze strany zaměstnance daleko individuálnější a méně ochotný přijímat hodnoty firmy za své. To je jeden ze závěrů diskuse ekonomů, kteří se sešli na zmíněné konferenci na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze. Například prof. Ivan Nový z pražské VŠE zdůrazňuje, že trhy i podniky se musí vyrovnat s faktem, že moderní vysoce individualistický zaměstnanec nemusí cítit potřebu sdílet jakékoliv společné hodnoty. "To pochopitelně ztěžuje regulaci tam, kde jde o autoregulaci nevynucenou zákonem, ale pouze nějakým například firemním předpisem," tvrdí Nový. Má to i další důsledky. Podle mého názoru, i když nyní považují mnozí politici v Evropě za návod, jak předcházet dalším finančním krizím, rozšíření a posílení regulace na trzích, pak to necítím jako dobré a dlouhodobé řešení. Není na místě uvažovat o kvantitě regulačních snah, ale spíše o jejich kvalitě a vymahatelnosti trestů za nepodřízení se pravidlům regulace. Profesor Jan Truneček tvrdí, že poslední roky světové ekonomiky vytvořily nové dosud neznámé neznámé hospodářské prostředí, které přináší nová rizika pro firmy a které také zásadně mění potřeby při vedení firem. "Při rozhodování o budoucnosti hraje stále větší roli náhoda a výjimečnost, protože se stále méně opakují identické či obdobné situace a stále více se dějí originální a jedinečné události. Jestliže tedy dříve rozhodovací procesy směřovaly k řádu a rovnováze, nyní jde o řízení neustálých změn, které jsou mnohdy tak rychlé, že je dokonce klasické řídící struktury ani nedokáží zaznamenat natož ovlivňovat," poznamenal profesor Truneček. Podle mého názoru to je i jeden z důvodů, proč světová finanční krize dorostla takových rozměrů: "Toto tržní prostředí vytváří velký tlak na ziskovost a to pak znamená více riskovat k tomu, aby byly výnosy zvyšovány. Vysoké riziko vždy naráží na hranice regulace a snaží se je pokořit nebo obejít." Vážení čtenáři, pokud vás toto krátké exposé bude inspirovat k přečtení dalších příspěvků vyjadřujících se k současné ekonomické situaci, budeme velmi rádi. Title: Transactions cost and boundary of the firm
Abstract: This paper presents the basics of the Transaction cost theory (TCT) and shows it's contribution to the Theory of the firm by the view of the new institutional economics. In the first part, author presents resources and presumptions of the TCT mainly by O. E. Williamson. The theory is based on asset specificity. The formal model with the human asset specificity is supposed to reply following questions. Why the firm arise and where is the boundary of the firm? In the second part, the model TCT is extending by knowledge-based explanations of the firm.

Title: Comparison of the attractiveness of selected countries form the international outsourcing point of view
Abstract: This paper presents the research results of the attractiveness of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, China and India as countries suitable for searching for outsurcing services providers. The research was carried out from both the Britisch copany and the Czech copany point of view. Title: Energy analysis of farms - methodical approach
Abstract: The objective of the contribution, which is based on the research of National agency for agricultural research (NAZV QH 71016) carried out between 2007 and 2010, is to present research concept of energy and economic analysis of farms. The core idea behind the concept rests in a need to assess an enterprise and its result using multicriterial evaluation. Global research objective is to evaluate economic and energy efficiency and their relation. Beside that it aims on the identifying the factors which account for variability in energy and economic efficiency. The specific method for energy analysis of farms created by PLANETE group is presented in more details. The method will be empirically verified on a set of Czech farms in 2008 - 2009.

Title: Company Management in a Global Business Environment - Old Concepts with New Content
Abstract: Global business environment is preferably characterized by turbulences as well as by uncertainties and other undeterminable parameters which can hardly be described by routine mathematical tools. At these circumstances corporate management could be likened to ship captain who has to rudder a ship through hell and high water without having correct maps. All of a sudden he has to rely almost exclusively on his analytical skill, personal and shared experience and intuitive consideration. Upon this situation managers may raise a question to what extent companies are manageable in global business environment. Management process is subject to Corporate Governance principles, which are becoming universal in global business environment. This paper refers to two key managerial competencies, namely organizing and planning which mastering in light of global economics represents key success factor.

Title: New Economy Index for the Czech Republic
Abstract: The first part of the paper formulates the definition of the knowledge and the new economies and two systems of quantitative characteristics for the new economy - the American and the European ones. The knowledge economy can be regarded as a general characteristic of the current and important positive supply side shock. Its core is a fast development of the ICT. The new economy can be regarded as a concrete and a relatively persistent period of the economic growth. The main reasons of this growth are positive effects of the knowledge economy. The second part of the paper analyses the state and the development of the new economy in the Czech Republic in comparison with the state of the new economy in two member states of the USA -Georgia and in Michigan. The Czech Republic, Georgia and Michigan are namely similar by the number of the inhabitants.

Abstract: In today´s globalised hypercompetition dominated world, companies are often fighting for survival. The article tries to find a way out in the usage of military strategies represented e.g. by the well respected work of the chinese general Sun Tzu "The Art of War". Title: Developing virtual cooperation in virtual world
Abstract: Thanks to the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) contemporary companies are able to organize their work in an innovative way. One of them is use of virtual work (also called remote work, dispersed work or telework) when the workers are remote from each other and communicate through ICT. For more complex projects virtual teams are built-up. In the light of theory and practice of human capital management, job performance management of virtual teams is a new area with many differences from management of traditional teams. This paper deals with one of the newest methods of virtual teams building which also utilize virtual environment. This method consists in team gaming of specially designed games in the virtual world Second Life. Subsekvently we give several examples of the use of virtal world for virtual cooperation development. Research of this methods is on its very beginning, but the results are more than encouraging.

Title: New economy ant The new Age of new economy
Abstract: The paper points to some new aspects in the evolution of the world's economy, where mainly the use of so far unknown or disregarded financial tools leads to brand new situations on various markets and to qualities generally called deformation of the markets. The paper also defines new, unexpected and so far unknown risks appearing in that context. Furthermore, the author raises the question whether the increase in quantity and importance of asymmetric information in the world economy and in individual markets can be one of the essential aspects of development in recent months. In that respect, the paper joins the discussion about some aspects of the world economy in the past few  years and mainly in thefirst half of 2008.

Title: Electro-energetics - managing new risks
Abstract: One of the most significant changes in power industry was the start of trading on Prague Energy Exchange. This new phenomenon on the Czech electricity market brings some different types of risks in real life. In this paper are discussed topics concerning credit risk, market price risk and foreign exchange risk. In the part of credit risk there are introduced issues covered the introduction to the whole credit risk mechanism, the split of the risk between different risk holders and the tools serving to the risk mitigation. The market risk includes primarily the risk connected with the actual value of the futures contracts and its possible change, furthermore the liquidity and margining requirements due to market changes and mark to market evaluation are described. The foreign exchange risk derives from the fact that the price of exchange contracts and the payments are in euros, but the domestic currency is Czech crown. In focus are the possible changes in the contact value nominated in crowns due to exchange rate volatility, without any certain presumable trend. The models used to demonstrate the impact of the above mentioned factors are based on the Monte Carlo simulation methodology. Each demonstration uses a simple example, which clarifies the assumptions on which the simulations are calculated.

Title: Flexibility modeling of investment projects with computer implementation
Abstract: Investment decision making is very important for firm growth. The classical quantitative methods (NPV, IRR…) don´t involve value of the firm option of flexible reaction to continuously changing conditions and take advantage of them. This deficiency eliminates the using of the real options methods that have been built on analogy between finance and real options. The typical real options that are frequently used in flexible firm investment projects are primarily option to wait, option to expansion, option to contract or option to defer the project. Using the analogy with finance options it is possible to valuate the firm flexibility included in the project in STRATEX. We can use either the binomial or Black-Scholes model. It is possible to implement the sensitive analysis for all inputs.

Title: Happiness and Economic Growth - Mutual Relations and Consequences
Abstract: Economic growth together with gross domestic product increase - have been considered as principal criteria of countries´ welfare. Contemporary era witnesses profound changes within countries and their population. These have been reflected in impacts on evaluating wealth, happiness and content criteria. The increased economic growth, on one side moves countries´ living standards upwards, on the other side the feelings of happiness do not rise adequately. We attempt to analyze the relations between higher incomes and their impacts on population´s family, social and professional lives. Based on international as well domestic institutions´ research outputs we submit some happiness determinants, some ideas and conclusions that could be a challenge for more profound discussion on the importance of life style quality improvement.

Title: Integrated performance measurement systems model
Abstract: This paper focuses on the background research, development, and practical application of the Integrated Performance Measurement Systems and the associated audit methods. The research aims to explore the hierarchical structure and performance indicator relations, and to examine referential model for the comparison and benchmark of integrated performance measurement systems.  The model for integrated performance measurement systems presented in this contribution is based on a collection of academic works and attainable industrial practices. A number of existing models and concepts have been used to provide a framework which facilitates the integration of various models, concepts, and practices into a single model. Performance measurement systems should be dynamic and they should change and adapt with the changing internal and external environment. There is little evidence of recognition of this need for dynamic systems within the practitioners and there is little theory and technology to facilitate creation of truly dynamic performance measurement systems. Dynamics of performance measurement systems should be an area of focus for future research.
