Competitive intelligence is the new management tool companies are using for ensuring positive results both on the short and the long term. The following research paper starts by revealing the needs that companies respond to when implementing competitive intelligence and continues with a summary of the main techniques used by businesses to develop an intelligent market approach. The paper also offers a brief description of corporate espionage practices, underlining the differences between these and the competitive intelligence techniques. A case study showing the way that competitive intelligence is implemented in practice is being offered. Conclusions refer to the main differences between corporate espionage and competitive intelligence as well as the driving forces determining the need for acquiring knowledge on competitive intelligence. In order to measure the contemporary value concept of production, it is necessary to construct an indicator which accurately reflects economic effets, such as changes in consumption levels (a factor of production) and changes in their dutiable status, by means of the quantity flow. Late and substandard payments have become rather a tradition in the Czech way of doing business. Consequently the solution by selling receivables to the third party is often resorted to. The thesis examines the system of the internal debt evaluation in banking sector for the purpose of sale. In the conclusion it presents a draft methodology with three different modifications: The first modification is the value of the credit based on the debtor's ability to pay using the risk parameters such as the probability of default, the loss given default and the recovery rate of the credit (calculating according to BASEL II rules).
