Obvykle vnímáme z podnikového hlediska především vývoj finanční situace, která je vyvrcholením působení různých faktorů. Neopominutelným důsledkem nepříznivého vývoje, který nastává, je extrémní zatížení managementu podniků. První příspěvek si klade za cíl upozornit a vážné riziko nazývané syndrom vyhoření, který ohrožuje v dnešní době řadu pracovníků ve firmách, a to nejen ve vrcholových pozicích. Podstatné je včas identifikovat příznaky, které jsou spojeny s tímto syndromem a reagovat tak, abychom předešli závažným důsledkům trvalého přetížení. Vždyť pracovník, to je naše hlavní deviza! V dalších částech dnešního čísla je věnován prostor především příspěvkům zaměřeným a prezentaci výsledků výzkumu v rámci Fakulty podnikohospodářské. Jde především o velmi aktuální téma inovací a dále pak konkurenceschopnosti podniků v ČR. Rozsáhlé zprávy naleznete právě v tomto čísle. Samostatnou pozornost jsme věnovali i analýze dopadů recese do automobilového průmyslu. Příspěvek věnovaný této tématice optimisticky vnímá současnou situaci jako příležitost pro restrukturalizaci, která již delší dobu nazrávala. V neposlední řadě je významné poukázat na příspěvek poslední, a to věnovaný legislativě EU. Zde se zdá, že jsou vytvářeny předpoklady pro reflexi nového trhu - výrazně většího, než byla možnost pro podniky v rámci EU. Navíc zde jsou některé možnosti, které překvapí a přivedou podnikatele k uplatňování právě novinek, které jsou pro firmy zdánlivě málo čitelné. The current economic environment is characterized, and burn-out syndrome is described as well as its possible causes, manifestations and stages. Further, several specific features of managerial jobs which contribute to the development of the burn-out syndrome are presented. The paper also provides information on the possible burn-out prevention including a list of significant protective factors and activities using which managers can lower the level of their work stress and thus prevent the development of the syndrome. These shoud be fully respected by all subjects if they find to operate in this turbulent environment. It is essential to adapt business behaviour to these changes. The most important is to accept the rate of change of final goods demand by consumers. This leads to shorter life time of goods, more strict criteria for environment protection and rising competition in all segments of market. Only company that pays attention to its marketing research and inovations can fulfill the various demands of consumers and react flexibly and quickly to the changes of these demands. Only such company can succeed. The task of top management of a company is to join technical and manage level of production process and make sure managers are able to explain inovation plans. We focus on three methods: net present value method, internal rate of return and payback period for purpose of confirmation/rejecting of a proposition that there exists a "gap" between theoretical recommendations and practice of financial managers in investment projects evaluation. We came to the conclusion of the existence of disproportionate perception between theoretical recommendations and practical application of selected methods. The conclusion confirmed the necessity of the discussion between scientists and financial managers in issue of the investment project evaluation. Together with the commonly discussed causes of the economic crisis, he introduces a thesis that an important role was played by long-term and continuous attempts of governments in developed economies at outpacing the development of living standards in the respective countries in terms of the accessibility of own homes, at outpacing the trends predetermined by the abilities of the national economies. He comes up with the idea that particularly the massive support of housing in the United States led to creating an environment that ceased to behave market-wise and was not able to indicate correct and corresponding prices any longer, mainly because it artificially provoked demand for own homes. Moreover, homes in standards much higher than the mortgage lenders could afford economically. In recent years we have lived in a world of rising interest in the isssues of social responsibility, that is supported not only by the multinational and international organizations, the European Union and the governments but also by the firms themselves. At present, when we are facing the economic crisis, a widely spread support of CSR is being tested again. Not only because of the above reasons, it is necessary even in the future to look for other ways which could contribute to implementation of CSR ideas into daily practice of business sphere in the Czech Republic. Abstract: The year 2008 was probably the most difficult year for automotive industry since Second World War. Economical crisis, which started in United Stated, extended dramaticly and fast through financial sector and then found automotive industry as one of the biggest victim.Car industry is really nearly connected to global economic situation and expectation of its development. On the other hand, car industry was really waiting for such a bit impact. During last 20 years a production capacities increased dramaticly mainly due to unrealistic and optimistic expectation of car sells on emerging markets. Nowadays it seems, that expectation were unrealistic and there should be some rationalisation in capacity usage, that will bring unpleasant impact to affected region. Economic situation bring closing of some car factories or consolidation process in this industry. The politicians will probably be unhappy from this situation and try to put their own ideas, how situation solve.
