Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Jiří Fotr Author-Name: Lenka Švecová Title: Probabilistic Approaches in Investment Decision Making and their Implementation Abstract: The success of investment projects depends largely on the quality of integration of risks and uncertainty in the process of preparation of these projects, their evaluation and decisions on acceptance or rejection. This article first characterizes the shortcomings of traditional onescenario approach for evaluating projects within investment decision making. The main focus is on probabilistic tools, mainly on scenarios and Monte Carlo simulation. The article characterizes principles of the tools, their common features and differences, examples of usage in the investment decision making. Also covered are strengths and weaknesses of the tools, and application of Monte Carlo simulation in risk analysis of investment projects is illustrated on practical example. In conclusion, the article discusses barriers of implementation of scenarios and Monte Carlo simulation and proposes a set of recommendations increasing the success of integration of these tools into the investment decision making. Mechanisms for implementing community programs resulting from general principles of Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 1605/2002 on the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the European Communities and Commission Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 2342/2002 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of the Financial Regulation. Community programs may be implemented by centralized management or shared management. In the centralized management of community programs are funded directly from the EU budget. The principle of shared management is the division of powers between the European Commission and EU Member States. Such circumstances enable changes including growing buying power of retail chains, on the other hands can start harsh price competition among remaining retailer. Quoted model of monopsony on market of production factor (goods bought for sale by retailer is considered as production factor) depicts effects of explotation of buying power. The other part - using Dobson´s model and other microecomic models of oligopsony illustrates examples of mutual effects differentiation (both of complex product of retailer and supplier), buying (transfer) price, rate of concentration of retail market on selling price and consumer excess.
