The University of Economics, Prague and Microsoft strengthen their cooperation

3. 9. 2014 - Prof. Hana Machková, Rector of the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) and Biljana Weber, Country General Manager Czech Republic at Microsoft, signed an Education Alliance Agreement on 27 August 2014. The two women, in positions that are usually occupied by men, agreed that education and technology are increasingly connected areas. Therefore, it is advantageous for both parties to acquire strategic partners. More

The Center for Physical Education and Sports offers new sports courses for English speaking students.

1. 9. 2014 - The Center for Physical Education and Sports (CTVS) has prepared several sports courses taught in English for fall semester 2014/2015. Courses, which are held regularly once a week, start on 22nd September and last till 19th December 2014. Students may enroll in several courses:  basketball, tennis, fitness - bodybuilding, fitness - aerobics or swimming. It is even possible to register for more than one course. All courses are taught by professional trainers with years of experiences. Most of them are former professional athletes with outstanding sport achievements. More

1. 8. 2014 - The CUPESSE international research project is dedicated to the comparative analysis of youth unemployment in Europe. The researchers of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Economics, Prague (VSE) such as Assoc. Prof. Martin Lukeš, Vice- Dean for Science and Research take part in the project. By taking issues related both to the demand and supply sides into consideration, the project aims to obtain a comprehensive picture of the causes and consequences of unemployment among young people as well as to formulate policy strategies and recommendations for addressing this ever-growing issue. The project brings together a broad network of researchers and practitioners from the fields of economics, political science, psychology, and sociology.  More

Doc. Ing. Štěpán Müller, CSc., MBA Dean Müller appointed as a new member of the EPAS Accreditation Board

24. 7. 2014 - Doc. Ing. Štěpán Müller, CSc., MBA – The Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics, Prague –– was appointed as a new member of the EPAS Accreditation Board operated by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) based in Brussels. This appointment will take effect from September 1st; the mandate of a member of the EPAS Accreditation Board is three years. The EPAS Accreditation Board is composed of 10 International Academic Members, four International Corporate Members and four Non-voting Members from EFMD. More

Buddy System is Social

22. 7. 2014 - Buddy System is the student organization that takes care of foreign students coming to study at the University of Economics, Prague. One of the main goals of Buddy System is to enable integration of exchange students into local community. This is done via Social Erasmus activities where exchange students get possibility to involve in volunteering activities that help local community, disadvantaged or minority groups. More

Ing. Ladislav Tyll, MBA, Ph.D. appointed as a new academic director of the CEMS Programme

11. 7. 2014 - On July 1st 2014, with immediate effect, Ing. Ladislav Tyll, MBA, Ph.D. was appointed as a new academic director of the CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education. This position was previously held by Doc. Ing. Jiří Hnilica, Ph.D., who as a new member of VŠE top management currently serves as a Vice-Rector for International Relations and Information Systems. CEMS Logistics Faculty Group Meeting at FBA

8. 7. 2014 - On Thursday, 3 July 2014, the CEMS Logistics Faculty Group members´ meeting took place at the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE).  Dr. Petr Kolář, the group representative for FBA, scheduled the meeting with colleagues from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniverität Wien – WU). 7. 7. 2014 - For the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE), academic year 2013/2014 was a year of very important events. The Academic Senate of VŠE elected Prof. Hana Machková as the university’s new president. In addition, four faculties of VŠE have elected new deans: Faculty of Finance and Accounting (doc. Mejzlík), Faculty of Business Administration (prof. Nový), Faculty of Informatics and Statistics (doc. Marek), and Faculty of Economics (doc. Ševčík).  More

University of Economics, Prague will organize pre EAIE 2014 Partners Event

20. 6. 2014 - From September 16th - 19th 2014, Prague is hosting the 26th Annual EAIE Conference. On Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 the University of Economics, Prague will organize the pre-EAIE VŠE partners event. It will take place at the University of Economics, Prague in Rajska Building from 4-8pm and it will be organized for current as well as prospective partner schools. The program will include a campus tour, VŠE (University of Economics, Prague) presentations and dinner with newly elected Rector and other members of the University management. More

The Competency centers at the University of Economics – The real projects for students

16. 6. 2014 - The students of the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) have the opportunity to take part in projects for technological companies while they are studying at the University. Two years ago, the Faculty of informatics and statistics at VŠE began to develop „the Competency centers“, where students work on real business projects with the support of the latest information technologies. The Competency centers are one of the tools to connect education with practice. Students of all specializations can now join to these projects. The students of marketing, IT, finance, business economics and others are welcomed.  More

CEMS: Looking Back on Business Project Presentation

30. 5. 2014 - On Friday, May 23, 2014 International Management/CEMS Students at the University of Economics, Prague gathered to present the results of their Business Projects. VŠE CEMS Team wanted to enable students, corporate partners representatives and tutors to see also other teams Business Projects solutions. Each student presentation was followed by corporate representative and tutor comments. Time alloted for students questions was always fully „loaded“. Business project presentation in this form was realized in May, 2013 for the first time. More

Success of IM/CEMS students in the final round of KPMG International Case Competition

19. 5. 2014 - Four CEMS Programme (International Management Programme) students left at the end of March to represent Czech Republic on the international finals of the KPMG International Case Competition in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. There the four participants, Johana Adámková, Jan Rajchert, Jakub Ratislav and Diana Stašková, competed against 23 other national teams for the title of the winner of this prestigious event. More

Central and East European Studies Program and Summer University

25. 4. 2014 - The Central and East European Studies Program (CESP) is a free mover program for students at the graduate and undergraduate levels offered at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE). CESP was founded in 1992 as an optional one or two semester program held in English. The program focuses on issues in Central and East European economies, societies and cultures. Remarkable changes in Central and Eastern Europe have generated considerable interest in the economies and cultures of these nations. Many young people feel that it might be exciting and useful to understand these processes and know basic facts about new economic doctrines. Last but not least, there are many opportunities to have some personal experience with the life and social atmosphere of this area. More

In addition, one program is carried out in cooperation with the Czech Technical University in Prague. Most of the study branches are carried out in English as well.
