Lecture by Douglas Brodman at VŠE

CEO of Plzeňský Prazdroj, a. s. will deliver the "International Strategy – Is It Better to be Global or Local" lecture in the lecture theatre Vencovského at 4:15pm on Tuesday, 20 March 2012.

Mr. Brodman has been working in the brewing industry for more than twenty years. In 1999, he started to work for Miller Brewing Company present in the U.S. market as a member of SAB Miller. Since 2006, he has been working as a senior Vice-President of Miller Brewing International Company being responsible for its international expansion. In Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s., he holds the post of the company´s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Mr. Brodman graduated in management from St. John´s University in New York and was awarded with a MBA degree at Hofstra University, New York. Upon his arrival to the Czech Republic, Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s. became a VŠE corporate partner in November 2010.

The major cooperation project between VŠE and the company is the support of CEMS universities network and Master Degree Programme International Management. The company offers to the fourth and fifth year VŠE students summer internships with the application deadline on 30th March 2012.

In the Czech Republic, Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s. owns four brewery companies. In Pilsen, these ones are Plzeňský Prazdroj and Gambrinus; Radegast in Nošovice and Velké Popovice brewing company. The company is the exporter of beer to more than 50 countries worldwide. Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s. is the member of the international group SABMiller plc., the second largest brewing company in the world.
