International Valuation Standards (IVS), developed by the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), provide a comprehensive framework of rules and methodological approaches designed to ensure transparency, comparability, and professional quality in the valuation of a wide range of assets and liabilities. These standards are used in more than 150 countries around the world and are an important tool for the uniform application of valuation practices in an international context. As an independent non-profit organization, the IVSC brings together experts from academia and the professional sphere and works closely with regulatory and supervisory authorities.

VŠE’s involvement in the creation of international standards

The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is currently the only academic institution in the Czech Republic that is a member of the IVSC, and it is now playing a significant role in the creation of international standards through the work of Doc. Tomáš Krabec in the IVSC Financial Instruments Committee. This appointment is not only a recognition of his professional qualities and international reputation, but also a confirmation of the growing importance of VŠE as an institution that actively contributes to the development and harmonization of valuation practices on a global scale. The harmonization of Czech valuation methods with international standards is key to strengthening the legal certainty, credibility, and competitiveness of Czech expert and consulting outputs.
