Announcement of the Election for the Rector of the VŠE

The Academic Senate of the VŠE (AS VŠE) hereby announces the election of the Rector of VŠE in accordance with Article 10 of the Rules of Procedure of the AS VŠE.

The election will take place at the meeting of the AS VŠE on 24 November 2025.

Submission of Applications

The deadline for submitting an application for the position of Rector is 31 October 2025 at 12:00 noon.

Applications must be submitted in printed form, in a sealed envelope marked “Election of the Candidate for the Position of Rector” and addressed to the Chair of the Election Committee for the Election of the Candidate for Rector, to be delivered to the Registry Office of VŠE in Prague – Žižkov Campus.

Each application must be personally signed by the applicant and must include:

  • a curriculum vitae with basic personal information,

  • the applicant’s correspondence address,

  • a brief description of program objectives for the Rector’s term of office.

After the application deadline, the Election Committee will review all applications for completeness. In case of deficiencies, the applicant will be asked to correct them within 48 hours. If the deficiencies are not corrected within the given time limit, the application shall be considered not submitted.

The Election Committee for the Election of the Candidate for Rector:

  • approved the template of the Rector application form (available for download here),

  • set the date and venue of the public presentation of candidates for
    Thursday, 13 November 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Vencovský Auditorium, Žižkov Campus of VŠE.

Term of Office

The election is announced for the term starting on 1 April 2026, following the conclusion of the term of the current Rector, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D.

Key Dates Overview:

  • Public presentation of candidates: 13 November 2025 from 4:00 p.m. (Vencovský Auditorium)

  • Election of the candidate for Rector: 24 November 2025
