I have completed my Master’s degree (Ing.) and plan to continue with a Ph.D.
Congratulations on successfully completing your Master’s degree! Choosing to continue with doctoral studies is an important step that opens a new chapter in your academic and professional life.
What you should know:
-
Admissions procedures for doctoral programmes take place on different dates and are sometimes open even during the summer holidays. Please follow the current admissions deadlines on your faculty’s website.
-
Until you are officially enrolled in doctoral studies, you do not yet have an active student status. This means you cannot be registered for computer labs, VPN or eduroam access, nor can you be assigned to teaching. After successful enrolment in the Ph.D. programme, your full student status and access to university systems will be reactivated.
-
Pay close attention to your Microsoft 365 data – your university account remains active for 180 days after completion of your Master’s (Ing.) studies. If you enrol in doctoral studies in September (or later), this period may expire in the meantime and your OneDrive data may be deleted. We therefore strongly recommend downloading and backing up all data in advance.
-
After enrolling in doctoral studies, we recommend regularly checking the Science and Research intranet section. You will find information on training opportunities, research projects, and further instructions there.
