Japanese high school students visited VŠE

For the third year in a row, the International Office (OZS) at the Prague University of Economics and Business welcomed a group of high school students from Japan, who arrived in Prague under the guidance of independent counsellor Miwa Kitamura.

During their stay from July 24 to 30, 2025, the group visited the campuses of five Prague universities (VŠE, UK, VŠCHT, ČZU, ČVUT) and also had the opportunity to learn about Czech culture. Over the weekend, the students explored Prague’s historical and cultural monuments accompanied by local university students.

During their visit to the VŠE campus, which lasted the entire morning, the high school students learned about study opportunities, toured the school grounds, and talked with current VŠE students. Ms. Kitamura is an experienced study counsellor, whose recommendations have already led to Japanese students being accepted to VŠE in previous years. VŠE boasts a rich community that includes nearly 100 nationalities.

This visit, which is historically the most successful visit from Japan in terms of the number of participating students, confirms the growing interest of foreign students in studying in Prague, the importance of personal experience, and the importance of the role of a study counsellor in deciding on future studies.
