Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is introducing an electronic version of the diploma and the diploma supplement

As of June 2025, VŠE is introducing a new standard for graduation documents – the electronic diploma (eDiploma) and the electronic diploma supplement (eDS). These documents are available to graduates immediately after successful completion of their studies, in both Czech and English versions.

Electronic documents in InSIS
Both documents are automatically generated and electronically signed directly within the InSIS system. Once their signatures are confirmed by the Dean and the Rector, graduates will find them in their electronic archive in InSIS. This process is fully automated, fast, and secure.

The paper versions of the diploma and diploma supplement remain available – graduates will receive them in the traditional way during the graduation ceremony.

Benefits of combining electronic and printed formats

The introduction of electronic graduation documents brings a number of advantages to graduates:

  • immediate availability without having to wait for the graduation ceremony,
  • easy use when seeking employment both domestically and abroad,
  • ability to easily upload to digital systems,
  • representative graphic design that aligns with VŠE’s visual identity,
  • easier document management – graduates always have access to the original copy.

Digitalization as part of the National Recovery Plan

This step is part of a broader strategy to digitalize academic administration at VŠE, made possible by the National Recovery Plan (NPO) project. Thanks to this initiative:

  • the university’s technical infrastructure has been expanded,
  • the security and quality of data storage have been enhanced,
  • support has been created for further digitalization of processes (e.g., electronic submission and processing of student requests).

Moving toward a fully digital academic environment
By introducing the eDiploma and eDS, VŠE is actively preparing for the upcoming amendment to the Higher Education Act, which supports digitalization of processes and allows universities to communicate more effectively with students and graduates in a digital environment. Further changes are coming as early as September 2025 – for example, electronic delivery of official decisions or online applications.
