The International Advisory Board Praised VŠE’s Progress and Recommended Further Development Steps

How can the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) strengthen its position among top European universities? This was one of the key questions addressed during this year’s meeting of the International Advisory Board (IAB), which took place on Monday, May 26, 2025, at VŠE.

The International Advisory Board is an advisory body to the Rector, composed of distinguished international academics (mainly deans and rectors of prestigious universities) and representatives of leading international companies. It provides the university with strategic recommendations and valuable feedback that help VŠE evolve in line with global trends and enhance its international standing.

This year’s IAB meeting was also attended by industry representatives, such as Martin Jahn, Board Member of Škoda Auto, and Adam Legerský, CFO of Plzeňský Prazdroj. Discussions focused on topics such as attracting new students, future directions of education, sustainability, and the integration of international students. Board members also closely evaluated the university’s performance in 2024 and contributed to the preparation of the new strategic plan for 2026–2030.

The Board highly praised the progress achieved, including:

  • successful attainment of the prestigious AACSB accreditation,

  • improvements in international research publication,

  • increased acquisition of external funding,

  • process digitalization,

  • and significant advancements in HR and sustainability.

Among the Board’s recommendations was the potential introduction of the Business School Impact System (BSIS), a tool that maps the real-world impact of a business school on its environment.

The feedback and insights gained will play a crucial role in shaping VŠE’s new strategic documents and guiding the university’s direction in the coming years.
