November 24, 2025, Prague – The Academic Senate of the Prague University of Economics and Business has elected the current rector, Associate Professor Petr Dvořák, as the candidate for the position of rector for the 2026–2030 term. If appointed by the President of the Czech Republic, he will build on his current tenure and continue developing a modern, internationally recognized university.

Emphasis on High-Quality Teaching and Internationalization

“Educational activities must be based on study programs with high-quality content, primarily delivered through interactive in-person teaching using modern tools, supported by systematic methodological guidance, and by consistently applying internal and external evaluation and feedback to ensure their quality at an internationally comparable level,” says Rector Assoc. Prof. Dvořák, referring to his priorities in teaching and internationalization for the next term.

Election Results and Next Steps

Associate Professor Petr Dvořák received the support of more than half of the members of the Academic Senate, thereby becoming the candidate for appointment as rector. The Senate will now forward the proposal to the Minister of Education, who will subsequently submit it to the President of the Czech Republic for a final decision.
