Department of Logistics linked to the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME)

Thanks to the membership of Petr Kolář, Ph.D. from the Department of Logistics, Faculty of Business Administration, the University of Economics, Prague increased its international partnership portfolio in 2015.

The International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) was founded in the early 1990s. Currently, IAME has a membership of over 500 individual members from all continents and more than 20 corporate members. The Association is closely linked to two leading academic journals in the field: Maritime Policy & Management and Maritime Economics & Logistics. The Association and its members cooperate with a large number of public organizations such as the United Nations and its International Maritime Organization (IMO), other associations and private companies in the maritime field.

Based on the membership by Petr Kolář, Ph.D. and his cooperation with other IAME academic members, the University of Economics, Prague is set in the international research and education field that grounds international trade – one of the key focus areas of the university as well. Linked to the rail and truck haulage, the education and the research in the field of maritime transport and management are necessary to understand the operations and organization of global supply chains the landlocked Czech Republic is certainly part of.
