Inauguration of the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations

On Wednesday, 3rd February, 2016, the ceremony to inaugurate the newly elected Dean of the Faculty of International Relations (FIR), Josef Taušer, was held at the University of Economics in Prague.

Josef Taušer received his degree in International Business at the Faculty of International Relations, and has pursued his professional career at the very same faculty. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Department of International Business. Currently he is the Guarantor of the Master’s Degree in International Business program, as well as being Deputy of the Head of the Department. In 2008 he was conferred with the academic title of Docent (associate professor). In the period 2012-2013, he held the position of Vice-Dean for Research in addition to his being the Dean’s statutory deputy. Taušer is a regular guest professor at prestigious universities in France (Audencia School of Management, Nantes, IAE Lyon), as well as in Austria (WU Wien), where he gives lectures in English and German on the issues related to international financial management.

Taušer is a renowned scientist in the area of economic research. He has authored 6 articles which were published in impact factor journals, and is co-author of 3 monographs. He is also the author of another 17 peer reviewed articles. In addition, he has been actively involved in several international and national research projects, and is a member of 5 executive boards of research journals.

Josef Taušer replaces his predecessor Štěpán Müller as Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics, Prague.

The new Dean was elected by the Academic Senate of the Faculty of International Relations on 12th November, 2015. He remains in the function of Dean until 31st January, 2020.

During the inauguration ceremony, Taušer introduced the Vice-Deans of the Faculty of International Relations:

Pavel Hnát, Vice-Dean for Studies and the Dean’s statutory deputy;

Radka Druláková, Vice-Dean for Research and Doctoral Study Programs;

Radek Čajka, Vice-Dean for International Relations and PR;

Petr Štěpánek, Vice-Dean for Development and Finance
