From 7th to 9th May, 2017, the AACSB Annual Accreditation Conference on Europe, Middle East, and Africa, took place in Vienna, Austria. The conference had on offer a great variety of sessions and wide range of networking opportunities.

The AACSB International is the association which provides courses with internationally recognized “Business Accreditation”. In August, 2016, the Initial Accreditation Committee voted to accept the Eligibility Application, thus allowing the VŠE to enter the business accreditation process. In September, 2016, the VŠE was officially informed of this positive decision.

From the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE), a delegation consisting of Professor Hana Machková, Rector of the VŠE, Professor Ivan Nový, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, which received the EQUIS accreditation in March 2017; Miroslav Ševčík, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Pavel Hnát, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Tomáš Kincl, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management, and Jaroslav Wagner, Head of the Department of Management Accounting, took part in the Annual Accreditation Conference. All the members participated in the eventful conference program of the conference, and in so doing acquired valuable information regarding the accreditation process. This information will help the University of Economics, Prague, in the smooth continuation of the process.

The individual parts of the conference consisted of, for example from the plenary session, instructions on how to align the impact of the business school with its mission, or concurrent sessions on the scope of the accreditation, the faculty’s qualifications inventory, as well as the engagement, or preparation of the Self Evaluation Report.

The AACSB International was established in 1916. As the longest serving global association dedicated to the advancement of management education worldwide, the AACSB has accredited, and continues to accredit, 775 of the world’s best business schools across 52 countries and territories.
