University of Economics, Prague to Host International Conference on Professional Information Sources – INFORUM

The 23rd annual International Conference on Professional Information Sources: INFORUM; will be co-organized by the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE). The conference will be held at the VŠE’s Žižkov campus, in the university’s Vencovského Aula, as well as in Auditorium D on 30th and 31st May, 2017.

The Conference schedule will be divided into theme oriented sections. The focus of the Conference will be on electronic information sources and their professional use in science, research, education and entrepreneurship. Individual presentations will concentrate not only on the latest developments in the world of e-books and databases, but also on such new technologies and services, as discovery systems, digitalization, Open Access, social media archives, the use of audiovisual media for education and research, as well as on IT education.

Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with the representatives of several domestic and foreign firms at an exhibition, which will take place in the vestibule of the Vencovského Aula as a part of the Conference.

The Conference is designed not only for librarians and IT staff from public and professional purpose libraries, but also for scientific and research workers, health care professionals, university teachers and students, specialists in the IT field, as well as for public sector employees. The lectures will be given mostly in Czech, with translation to English provided.

Students and employees of the University of Economics in Prague can register for free during the Conference days and visit individual seminars. All they need is their valid ID card.
