Jakub Fischer elected Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics

Jakub Fischer was elected Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics in Prague was elected on the 13th of December 2017 for a four-year term of office. The faculty‘s Academic Senate has 17 members, of which six are students. During the vote, 15 senators were present, 2 were excused. In a secret election, Fischer received 14 votes, his opponent Petr Klán got 1 vote.

Jakub Fischer currently holds the post of Vice-Rector for Strategy and is the statutory representative of the Rector and also the Head of the Department of Economic Statistics (FIS). He is also the Chairman of the Council of Universities and a member of the Academic Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

He specializes in economic and social statistics and applied economic statistics. He is the author or co-author of 6 monographs, 50 reviewed articles, 117 conference papers, 3 certified methodologies, 7 comprehensive research reports, 7 scripts, and 7 expert reviews.
