2010

The University of Economics hosted the 26 March 2010 a workshop "Turning multicultural challenges into opportunities", that was held under the auspice of the Consortium of International Double Degrees (CIDD).

The training on specificities in the teaching, administrative and advisory processes towards groups of students from different countries was delivered by a team of professionals from the Helsinki University of Applied Sciences HAAGA-HELIA and participants recruited from the European universities.

The CIDD is a consortium of public and private universities from the whole world that are focused on international business studies. The Consortium serves as a network for students, alumni, teachers and companies. Members of the Consortium cooperate on preparing students for a global business environment including extended study abroad periods, on enhancing teacher mobility in order to increase quality of teaching and experiences of teachers including research contacts, on facilitating “Bologna” process by developing quality and self regulation of standards concerned with double degree programmes and on linking universities and companies.

The VŠE became a member to the CIDD in 2008, as the first university in the Czech Republic that provides “double degree” study program in international business. The Master’s program International Business – Central European Business Realities admits each year up to 30 students, which have a possibility to study their second year of study abroad – in Germany, in Switzerland, in France or in Austria, and graduate with two diplomas – one of the UEP and the second of the respective partner university. Today, 67 students from 36 countries from all continents study the Program, and graduates found their jobs within international companies worldwide.
