The CEO of Česká spořitelna, Gernot Mittendorfer, was honored with a commemorative medal of the University of Economics

Gernot Mittendorfer was awarded by president prof. Richard Hindls with a commemorative medal for deepening the mutual cooperation of Česka spořitelna and the University of Economics, Prague on Monday the 22nd November 2010.

The commemorative medal was given to Mr. Mittendorfer on the occasion marking the end of his activity in the Czech Republic. From January 1, 2011 he will become a member of Erste Group’s board of directors, where he will be responsible for business finance and investment banking.

Gernot Mittendorfer worked in Czech Republic for more than eight years over two periods. From 2000 to 2004, he was a member of Česká spořitelna’s board of directors, responsible for corporate banking. Since 2007, he has been the CEO of Česká spořitelna. Česká spořitelna has supported many projects of the school and student organizations as a general partner of the University of Economics, Prague during his term as a CEO. Mr Mittendorfer has also given lectures at the university as well as regularly presenting the students valuable aspects from his business practice.
