The University of Economics, Prague – the leading university in the fields of management and economics in the Czech Republic – offers a range of Master’s programs taught in English for 2011/2012 academic year.

International and Czech students willing to study in the multicultural environment can apply for five Master´s degree programs.

International Business – Central European Business Realities

iblogo.jpgThis is a two-year (four-semester) full-time master’s program taught in English. The program was established to address the specificities and characteristics of the Central European business environment within the framework of the increasing trends of globalization. It provides students with a comprehensive business education in the main fields of economics, management, finance, marketing and negotiations. Students are offered the possibility to fulfill part of their study obligations at one of the following four universities: the University of Lyon Business & Management School (France), the University of Applied Science in Mainz (Germany), the Management Centre Innsbruck (Austria), or at the International University Geneva (Switzerland), and to obtain graduate degrees (a double degree) from both the Czech and host universities.

M.A. in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (MA EGEI)

egei.jpgThe former study program MA Economics of International Trade is going to face several changes within the academic year 2011/2012. The name of the master study program was changed as follows: M.A. in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (MA EGEI), the study program CV was extended by a new obligatory subject „Macroeconomics of Globalization“, and a wider range of major specific elective courses within the “advanced” is prepared, which will enrich the current group of elective courses within the „skills“. Every student will have to pass at least one elective course from each group.

The consortium of universities organizing the program was extended by Xiamen University, P.R. China and Universidade de Brasília, Brasília.

Informative meeting for applicants is going to be held in the presence of current students of the program in the classroom 546RB at 2pm on April 26th, 2011.

International and Diplomatic Studies

idslogo.jpgThis is a two-year (four-semester) full-time master’s program taught in English at the University of Economics, Prague. The program covers the fields of international politics, international economics, international law, comparative politics, diplomatic history, as well as diplomatic theory and practice. A strong emphasis is placed on issues regarding the European Union, yet the program includes a variety of optional courses on comparative politics and international relations in other parts of the world, too. As part of the program, students are sent abroad for a semester to be hosted by a partner university (France, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Turkey, etc.).

Finance and Accounting for Common Europe

finaclogo.jpgThe Master’s in Finance and Accounting for a Common Europe program provides students with an understanding of how financial decisions in Europe can affect a firm’s value. The financial approach towards managerial decision making, taking into account behavioral aspects, describing and analyzing problems of choice and providing executives with the background and tools for financial analysis is indispensable. This master’s program is built on three pillars: the educational program, the research program and the personal development program. The educational program provides a profound knowledge of the necessary theories and frameworks and how to apply theory to practice. The research program prepares students for academic research. In the personal development program, students reflect on themselves and the program in order to gain an understanding of their personal growth in the study program.

Economic and Regional Studies of Latin America

claslogo.jpgThe faculty of Economics and Public Administration introduces the Economic and Regional Studies of Latin America Master´s Program. The Program covers the fields of economic and social systems of Latin American countries. It provides the student with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in professional and managerial positions and useful for business and economic co-operation among the EU, the Czech Republic and Latin American countries.

One of the most interesting aspects of the program is that the students have the opportunity to complete their second year of study in one of several prestigious Latin American universities. In this case the student will be obtain a double degree, one from the Czech university and the other from a Latin American partner university.
