Prague International Week

19 May
2011

From May 9 till May 13, 2011 the International Studies Centre of the University of Economics, Prague organized staff training for colleagues from partner universities. The event was held at VŠE for the first time. We welcomed 11 representatives, in total, from partner universities from Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.

Key agenda items of the meeting were mainly presentation of the university and exchange of experiences in the field of student and teacher mobility abroad, not only within the framework of the Erasmus program.

The training program was diverse. After being welcomed by the Vice-President for International and Public Relations Prof. Hana Machková and receiving an introduction to the university, the program continued with interesting lectures (e.g. about issues of outgoing and incoming students or cultural shock of students in a foreign country), workshops or meeting with Czech students selected for exchange with particular partner universities, as well as with a short course of Czech language.

In addition, our hosts from partner universities had the opportunity to attend a walking tour through Prague with a professional guide; they also tasted traditional Czech cuisine. The organization, course and contributions of the event were highly valued by the participants. Hence, VŠE plans to organize the event for foreign partner institutions again in the near future.
