During one week there has been an intensive course for Paris Sorbonne University students at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE), more than 1 000 teachers of French language have met at the European Congress and IFTG graduates meet at the French embassy in the Czech Republic.
The University of Economics, Prague has been developing an intensive cooperation with France since the early 90’s. It is the only university in the Czech Republic that has a specialized department focused on promoting bilateral relations. French-Czech Institute of Management (IFTG, Institut Franco-Tchèque de Gestion) was founded 21 years ago as the first international institute at VŠE. Its main goal is to educate French-speaking managers mainly from international companies. On Friday, 9 September 2011, there will be an official graduation ceremony of the 20th MBA postgraduate course „Master Management et Administration des Entreprises“. There will be a festive meeting of IFTG graduates held at the French Embassy after the Ceremony like last year. VŠE will be represented by the University President, prof. Ing. Richard Hindls, CSc., and other university members and representatives at both events. The French Ambassador, Pierre Lévy, Cultural Councelor and Director of French Institute, Olivier Jacquot, and the newly appointed Councelor for Economic Cooperation, Patrick Erbs, will represent the French Embassy.
IFTG is also organizing a number of other educational programs. There are specialized courses accredited as a part of „Marketing et pratiques commerciales“ master programme for example, in cooperation with Université Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne or as a part of „ International MBA“ programme. 24 students have already finished a course of marketing in Central Europe which is a part of this cooperation.
A very important event being held during this week is the European Congress of teachers of French, subtitled as „With French to muntilinguald education in Europe, from a variety to a synergy“.
