Development and Counselling Centre joins the University and business together

The Centre is responsible for developing business partnerships and negotiating internships and working opportunities for students.

The Development and Counselling Centre has been working for four months. During this time The Centre organized in partnership with Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers "Day of Audit and Tax Consultancy". It has also improved the Job opportunities fair "Šance", that takes place at the University of Economics Prague twice a year. The last time, 30 companies from the consulting, banking, IT, FMCG, international business and production fields participated in the "Šance” and more than 1 300 students visited the fair. The next "Šance” is taking place on 21st March 2007 in Atrium of the Rajská Building , in the UEP Prague.

The Development and Counselling Centre in cooperation with the Department of Managerial Psychology and Sociology also launched the work of academic psychological clinic. The students and employees of the UEP can once a week visit a psychologist and discuss their study, work or personal problems. Around 50 students have already used this service during the Fall semester 2006/07. The Development and Counselling Centre has also organized a few firms´ presentations at the UEP, it has offered to students and graduates some free positions in different companies and it has arranged so called "Breakfast with a Manager” at Danone Company for students of logistics.

In 2007, the Development and Counselling Centre is planning to start new important business partnerships, to develop career consultancy and initiate systematic work with alumni. The Centre is also planning to obtain more European and national developing and educational projects in which the whole university could participate and aims to intensify internal communication.
