The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) offers four international bachelor’s degree programs in foreign languages, three of which are taught in English:  Bachelor of International Business (IBB), Bachelor of Corporate Finance and Management (CFM) and the Bachelor of Economics (ECON). An informational meeting for applicants will take place on Wednesday, March 27 at 3 p.m.

The full-time Bachelor of Economics degree program, taught in English, is opened by the Faculty of Economics. The key objective of ECON is to create qualified professional economists able to enter the public and private sectors nationally or internationally. These professionals will have a strong base in economics, legal sciences and other social disciplines with a special emphasis on international economics and politics. With a sufficient and varied base, the graduates from this program will be able to respond to the ever-changing and increasingly demanding requirements of business practices and labor markets, both nationally and internationally. The program is aimed at talented local and foreign students who would like to later continue their studies in a master’s program taught in English either at the University of Economics, Prague or perhaps even abroad. The standard length of study is three years.

The ECON program offers a variety of courses that are taught by well established teachers. An overview of the courses includes: Marketing and Business Economics, Statistics, Mathematics for Economists, Economic Propedeutics, Writing Skills, Economics, Microeconomics I, Macroeconomics I, Public Sector Economics, Introducing to Philosophy, Economic History, Introduction to Economic and Social Policy, Introduction to Law and Economics, Elements of Law and Jurisprudence, Introductory Econometrics, Introduction to Game Theory, Discussion Seminar, Labor Seminar, Applied Quantitative Methods I., Drugs in Economics, Economics of Transformation, Economics of Vice, etc..

Admission requirements: Applicants must have completed their full secondary or professional (vocational) secondary education. Applicants should apply through the university’s information system – ISIS – and must send us the following: Letter of Motivation, Statement of English language proficiency, an Essay in English on a given economic topic, Application Fee – 50 EUR, and nostrification of the secondary school leaving certificate if applicable. The tuition fee is 1 800 EUR per semester.

The University of Economics, Prague offers international students the possibility of accommodation at the university’s dormitory, which is situated close to the university’s campus – only a short 15 minute trip by tram.
