Honors Academia – A Program for Excellent UEP Students

29 Aug
2007

The first group of select UEP students will join an elite educational and training program called “Honors Academia”.

This program starts in October and is available for Master’s students. It does not substitute for a standard education and will be held mostly in the form of block or extra-semestral education. The main advantage for students is the strong involvement of important companies. The partners of the project are Škoda Auto, Deloitte, Veletrhy Brno, Ipsos Tambor, Johnson & Johnson, Nielsen, TSR, HMC Group, Schenker Logistics and Pražské jaro. CZECH TOP 100 and Ekonom are involved too.

Experts and managers from the business sector will providea significant part of the education. Every student also has to complete a two month internship at a company. Foreign universities that already run similar programs will also cooperate; they are Universität Regensburg and the University of Denver. The program takes four semesters. It is completed by a final exam in the form of a group discussion. Successful graduates get a certificate.

The project is financed from company contributions and a development program provided by the Czech Ministry of Education. Students pay 10 thousand CZK to participate. Students who want to join the “Honors Academia” program can send their applications during August and September 2007. Electronic forms are available at: http://fph.vse.cz/pro-studenty/honors-academia. Applicants will be selected by specialists from the Department of Business Psychology and Sociology at UEP.
