On the 26th of September a crowded Vencovsky auditorium appreciated a performance of Folkloric Ballet Company BAFOCHI with standing ovation. This event was organized by CLAS (Center for Latin American Studies) of the Faculty of Economics in cooperation with the Embassy of Chile.

Pablo Rodrigo GAETE VIDAL, new Ambassador of Chile to the Czech Republic, offered to the VŠE to arrange the performance of renowned Chilean company BAFOCHI, which was on its tour around European countries. BAFOCHI was formed in 1987 and draws inspiration from diverse cultures, which form the Chilean nation. The BAFOCHI’s repertoire is very varied and includes both historical dance and music of tribes as well as modern dances, which express recent events in Chilean history. Songs by famous authors such as Violeta Parra and Victor Jara as well as set to music texts by Pablo Neruda and Nicanor Parra were presented during the performance.

Many thanks for an exceptional experience belong to Lourdes Daza Aramayo who is an executive director of CLAS.
