VŠE President Appointed

The President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman, appointed Prof. Hana Machková the President of the University of Economics, Prague on March 25, 2014 at Prague Castle.  The appointment is effective from April 1, 2014.

Mr. Marcel Chládek, The Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic, took part in the appointment event. In a brief speech, the President wished Prof. Machková a lot of success. He stressed the fact that the University of Economics, Prague is his Alma mater. After the appointment process, the new university president, her predecessor Prof. Richard Hindls, dr. h. c. and Prof. Václav Riedlbauch, the Chair of VŠE Academic Senate were invited by the President of the Czech Republic for a business lunch.

From 1 April 2014, the new VŠE Vice-Presidents will be appointed:

  • Jakub Fischer, Ph.D., Deputy Vice-President, Vice-President for Strategy
  • Petr Dvořák, Ph.D., Vice-President for Academic Affairs
  • Jiří Hnilica, Ph.D., Vice-President for International Relations and Information Systems
  • Prof. Petr Musílek, Ph.D., Vice-President for Science and Research
