Representatives of University Honored Memory of Jan Palach

Jan Palach died 53 years ago. A former VŠE student became a symbol of the resistance against the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in August 1968. Jan Palach set himself on fire on Wenceslas Square in Prague on January 16, 1969 with the aim of arousing society to actively resist the military occupation of Czechoslovakia. He died three days later as a result of his painful injury. To this day, it is a symbol of personal bravery in the fight against injustice and lethargy in society. Today, January 19, 2022, his memory was honored by the rector and other representatives of the Prague University of Economics and Business together with his classmates.
