Researchers’ Night 2023 was attended by almost 500 visitors!

On Friday, 6 October, the annual Researchers’ Night event was held at more than 100 locations across the Czech Republic to show the public the beauty of science through workshops, experiments and guided tours at universities and scientific institutions, completely free of charge.

Traditionally, the Researchers’ Night has been hosted by The Prague University of Economics and Business and for the first time ever, the event was also held at the premises in Jindřichův Hradec. The campuses were filled with nearly 500 visitors. A varied programme was prepared for them by over 25 scientists from all faculties. Specifically in Prague, visitors had the opportunity to explore 6 full-length stations and attend 28 short lectures and workshops, so there was really a lot to choose from.

Lectures on investing, on how game theory works, on the Body Mind approach and on financial literacy were the most successful. Niclas Berggren, Associate Professor of Economics, enriched the audience with his knowledge via an online stream from Sweden.

Throughout the event, visitors were again guided by a mobile escape game in which they fought against the Mysterious Contagion of Financial Illiteracy. This game, prepared by the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, was a great success among the visitors. The most successful players also won exciting prizes from the event partners.
