Uniqway Student Carsharing Celebrated 3.5 Years since Service Was Launched

With a six-month delay caused by a coronavirus pandemic, Uniqway student carsharing celebrated its third birthday. The service was first launched on October 17, 2018, and within three and a half years it expanded its fleet to 36 vehicles – ŠKODA FABIA, SCALA and electric CITIGOe iV. From the beginning, shared cars have been available to students and employees of partner universities, including the VŠE. In addition, graduates have been able to use them since last year. More than 6,000 users have already registered for the service, who have covered a total of over 1,000,000 km.

The celebration brought together not only members of the student team that created and manages the service, but also representatives of the management of partner universities, including Prof. Hana Machková, Rector Emeritus of the VŠE and doc. Ota Novotný, Vice-Rector for Development and Corporate Relations. Partners from ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab s.r.o. were also present.

The Prague University of Economics and Business has been involved in the student carsharing project from the very beginning, when the project was created as an academic study, which was subsequently transferred to a really functioning service. A team of students from all faculties of the VŠE led by Ing. Petr Král, head of the Department of International Business, is responsible for creating the marketing strategy of the service, for its communication and design, including the brand strategy.

We wish Uniqway many satisfied users and millions of more kilometres to come!
