FIR as the European Centre for Studies and Research in International Relations

On September 12 to 15, 2018, the Faculty of International Relations (FIR) will become the European Centre of Study and Research in the field of International Relations. During these days on its premises, the University of Economics, Prague, is hosting the 12th Pan-European Conference on International Relations titled “A New Hope: Back to the Future of International Relations” organised in collaboration with the European International Studies Association (EISA) and the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA). The conference will be held in cooperation with the Institute of International Relations and under the auspices of the Rector of the University of Economics, Prague, prof. Ing. Hana Machková, CSc.

During the conference, it will be possible to meet with leading European and Czech specialists in the field of International Relations, such as Pinar Bilgin, Stefano Guzzini, Daniel Nexon, Ann Towns, and Jeff Colgan, who will already appear at the Inaugural Plenary Session. Special talk titled “Prague at the End of History” will be given by Derek Sayer. On September 10 and 11, 2018, immediately prior to the start of the konference, the FIR will also welcome a workshop for World International Studies Committee (WISC) early career researchers.

More than three dozen students of all levels of study and academicians across the departments of the FIR will be involved in the conference. They will be able to attend panels, draw inspiration, and get contacts that can help them both in their further study and in their professional lives.
