A scientific doctoral workshop of the international association EIASM took place at VŠE

EIASM (European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management) was founded in 1971 and is based in Brussels. The mission of this international association is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of research in the field of management and to support doctoral study programs. Almost 45,000 university scientific and teaching faculty members are currently registered within this international network. EIASM´s members are 71 universities/business schools from 20 mainly European countries. The Prague University of Economics and Business is a long-standing member and is still the only Czech institution represented in EIASM.

On April 27 and 28, a scientific workshop for doctoral students entitled “Strategic Human Resource Management, Challenges for HRM in the next generation” took place at VŠE. On behalf of VŠE, the Faculty of Business Administration participated in the organization of the workshop. The panel discussion was chaired by prof. Michel SEGALLA, HEC Paris, France, prof. Bruno Staffelbach, Rector of the University of Lucerne, Switzerland and the Head of the Department of Managerial Psychology and Sociology doc. Ing. Daniela Pauknerová, Ph.D. The seminar was also attended by prof. Jérôme Chabanne-Rive, Executive Director of EIASM.

24 doctoral students presented the results of their research in the field of human resources management,

  • two of them were doctoral students of the Faculty of Business Administration (Eva Hovořáková, and Adam Táborský,
  • and two were representing Faculty of management (Pavel Král, Ph.D and Helena Řepová).

International doctoral seminars and workshops are an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to compare their research activities with doctoral students from top European universities and to establish contacts for the development of the international research cooperation.
