Academic Senate of Faculty of Finance and Accounting Elected Prof. Petr Musílek Dean for Next Term

On February 25, 2022, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting elected a new Dean, Prof. Petr Musílek. He will be appointed to the position with effect from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026. He will replace Ladislav Mejzlík after two terms of office.

Prof. Petr Musílek graduated from the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) in 1988, majoring in Finance. He later obtained a professorship at the same institution. Throughout his career, he has been working at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting VŠE, where he held the position of Vice-Dean for Science and Doctoral Studies. Since 2014, he has been the Vice-Rector for Research and Science at VŠE.
He specializes in capital markets, investment banking and financial regulation. He is a member of the scientific board of the Czech Banking Association, in 2003-2006 he was a member of the Presidium of the Czech Securities Commission and in 2006-2009 a member of the GAČR Committee for Social Sciences. Petr Musílek also serves on the editorial board of the journal Oceňování or in the scientific editorial office of the publishing house Oeconomica. He is the author and co-author of fifteen monographs and textbooks and more than seventy articles in Czech and foreign professional journals.
