Meeting of the International Advisory Board

On October 10, 2022, the International Advisory Board (IAB), the Rector’s international advisory body, met at the University of Economics and Business in Prague. The IAB meets once a year and addresses strategic issues related to the development of the University. During the covid-19 pandemic, the IAB was held online; this year’s meeting was a hybrid with most members accepting Rector Dvorak’s invitation and attending the meeting in person. There was a slight turnover in the IAB membership compared to the last term. Both prestigious universities and top managers from international companies are represented in the IAB. Currently, the IAB is composed as follows:

  • Thomas Bieger, University of St.Gallen, rector emeritus
  • Ingmar Björkman, Hanken School of Economics, rector
  • Josep Franch, ESADE Business School, dean
  • Zeynep Gürhan  Canli, Koç University,  Executive President and Vice-Chancellor for Educational Affairs
  • Jérôme Chabanne-Rive, EIASM, Executive Director
  • Stephanie Morgan, University of Aberdeen Business School, Director of Developement
  • Boyan Neychtev, Bel Groupe, General Manager, D/A/CH & CEE
  • Marek Prach, Pilsner Urquell, Director of Distribution and Planning
  • Ikhlaq Sidhu, School of Science and Technology, IE University in Madrid, Dean
  • Pierre Semal, Louvain School of Management, Dean Emetritus
  • Brigitte Streller, L´Oréal Česká republika, Maďarsko, Slovensko, CEO

Six IAB members attended today’s meeting, three members took advantage of the online option and two members excused themselves for work reasons. As this was the first meeting of the new HEI leadership with the IAB members, all Vice-Chancellors presented the strategy for their respective areas and the discussions provided valuable feedback to the HEI leadership, which will be reflected particularly in the preparation for the final phase of AACSB accreditation.
