VŠE wins against ČZU in hockey battle

On November 2, the hockey players of the Prague University of Economics and Business defeated the team of ČZU 6:2 in the Hockey Battle of the Universities and became the first hockey champions in the Battle of Prague. The match in the Holešovice sports hall, which was attended by almost 9 thousand spectators, was played as part of the University Ice Hockey League.

Before the match, a march of students in support of the VŠE team took place, starting on Letná Plain and continuing through Stromovka to Fortuna Hall, where the event was held. The students sang and also performed a dance inspired by the Maori Haka dance.

After the match the new champions received the trophy from the VŠE Rector doc. Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D.

The hockey duel of the universities originated in Brno and was held in the capital city for the first time this year. The program started with our match against ČZU and was followed by the match between Charles University and CTU, in which Charles University won 4:3. The whole event ended with an evening afterparty in the Křižík Pavilion of the nearby Prague Exhibition Centre.

Congratulations to our team for the victory and thanks to all the fans who came and created an unforgettable atmosphere during the whole evening.
